Oily, Aging Skin with Mild Acne

For people with oily skin, breakouts may never stop as they age. But oily skin does have a plus: It wards off wrinkles better than dry skin because the oils keep skin moister and smoother.

Though in some cases fine lines do appear and such a skin in need of anti-aging requires a careful combination of pore clearing, non-drying exfoliants with skin-lightening herbs and hydrating antioxidants. This will bring a perfect balance to your skin. Cleansing your skin in the morning and applying a skin clarifying lotion is essential to getting clear skin.

Cleanse with the Luxe Saffron Cleanser. You will need Fuller's earth (Multani mitti), Borax (Suhaga), Saffron (Kesar), and Rose water for this recipe:


On dry skin, apply a liberal amount of the paste so as to coat the entire face (include the neck, if you experience breakouts on your neck), keep for 10 minutes and rinse well. Pat skin dry and immediately follow with an OTC organic moisturizer suited for Oily Aging Skin (If you want to make one at home look up the standard regimen).

  • Place 1 tablespoon beeswax into a separate microwave-safe bowl. Microwave the beeswax on high heat for 30 seconds, or until melted.
  • Add 1 tablespoon aloe vera gel and 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil to the beeswax bowl.
  • Pour beeswax mixture and melted Shea butter into a blender or incorporate with a hand mixer. Blend ingredients until creamy.
  • Pour the mixture into a bowl and work in 10 to 20 drops of jojoba oil.

Take a cotton ball/pad and soak it in Rice and Rose Water Toner. This recipe requires Rice, Rose water, and Cucumber:
  • Put the rice in a bowl
  • Pour enough water in the bowl to cover the rice completely
  • Let it soak for 15 minutes when the water will start to look milky
  • Filter the water and add rose water to it
  • Use a blender to create a fine puree of cucumber
  • Add this puree to rice and rose water mixture and stir till they mix completely

  • Place the coffee and sugar in a medium size bowl.
  • Add the vanilla and mix well.
  • Add the oils and stir with a fork or the back of a spoon until well mixed and moistened.
  • Store in an air-tight container and use as desired for soft skin. Especially good on legs for helping with cellulite.
  • Leave it to dry and wash the face with warm water after 10 minutes.

Apply the Green Tea Night Cream on a dry face. This recipe uses Green tea, Beeswax, Sweet almond oil, and Rose hip seed oil:
  • Take 25 oz of pure beeswax and combine them with 1 oz almond oil, 1 oz coconut oil, 1 tsp of Rose hip seed oil in a double boiler, allowing it to melt.
  • Meanwhile take a cup of warm water and let a packet of green/white tea seep for a few minutes. Pour this mixture to the double boiler and mix. (If you are using a tea bag, open the bag and pour in the tea leaves too)
  • Once the beeswax melts let it cool for a minute or two, just enough to be able to strain through a fine sieve.
  • Whip this strained mixture using a hand blender until you reach a smooth, fluffy consistency
  • Store in a cool, dark place. Avoid refrigeration as it will harden the mixture.
  • It will last more than a month with daily application.
