YOU'RE A SKIN TYPE  1

Oily Skin with Clogged Pores and Acute Acne

Oils produced by our body helps in keeping the skin healthy, but there can be too much of a good thing. Excess oil can lead to blemishes and acne flare-ups.

Oily, problem skin requires a careful combination of natural cleansers, exfoliants (rich in antioxidants and healthy fatty acids), along with antiseptic botanicals like Tea tree oil and a good moisturiser. This regimen will help calm, control oil, disinfect and clear clogged pores without causing irritation or drying out the skin. The result will be clear, more even-toned, healthy and balanced skin with fewer blemishes.

Indications:

  • Considerably oily skin
  • Steady, acute acne (quite a few new blemishes a day) all over the face, including blackheads and cysts
  • Noticeable pores on entire face
  • Post-blemish red/dark scars that remain
  • Will flare up from heavy oils or pore-clogging ingredients
  • Wants clearer and smoother skin

Apply a thin coat (dime-size amount) of Jojoba moisturizer to the entire face. This recipe requires Jojoba oil, Shea butter, Beeswax, Olive oil, and Aloe Vera Gel. This is a multi-step recipe but is well worth the effort you put in. Here's how you make it:
  • Pour 1/2 cup unrefined Shea butter into a microwave-safe bowl.
  • Microwave on medium for 30 seconds, or just until the butter is melted.
  • Avoid overheating or boiling Shea butter, which creates a grainy consistency and may cause the butter to lose its healing effects.
  • Place 1 tablespoon beeswax into a separate microwave-safe bowl. Microwave the beeswax on high heat for 30 seconds, or until melted.
  • Add 1 tablespoon aloe vera gel and 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil to the beeswax bowl.
  • Pour beeswax mixture and melted Shea butter into a blender or incorporate with a hand mixer. Blend ingredients until creamy.
  • Pour the mixture into a bowl and work in 10 to 20 drops of jojoba oil.

Gently apply this on your face in a patting motion. Do not try to rub the toner into your face like you would a face wash. Let the toner sit on your face and dry naturally. Once dried, do a gentle rinse with warm water and apply moisturizer to complete the process.
